The campsite is only accessible by boat, so we had to take all equipment over on the paddle-boards. Including a bug bag of firewood.
We also had an adventure paddling around the river.

“We went on the kayaking and camping experience at the weekend and stayed at Broome Island. Both the kayaking and the camping were superb. Very well organised and nothing was too much trouble. The campsite is amazing with excellent facilities and the bell tent was perfect. A big thank you to Sophie from Let's Get Lost who made the experience one not to be forgotten. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone wishing to escape the stresses of everyday life.

Broome Island is only accessible by boat - and that's what makes it special! Paddle your kayak, cruise on your narrowboat, or glide on a paddleboard. We have plenty of moorings waiting at our jetty.
Where are we? On the beautiful River Soar between Mountsorrel and Barrow Upon Soar - halfway between Lock 51 and Lock 50. There are lovely pubs and shops at either end of the 2-mile stretch!
Parking: Leave your car in Barrow Upon Soar or Mountsorrel villages (free street parking), then start your water adventure. Please don't follow your sat nav to the island - there's no road access!
